Zakiyya Al Nasir

Fore-Word Press Ltd. has just released their 1st children's book by budding child author Zakiyya Al Nasir, entitled “Tabbs and Bouncer”..

Zakiyya aged 9 was a pupil at The Belvedere Girls Day School Trust in Liverpool where she developed into a creative story teller with a love of nature and in particular, cats and horses. The story is about caring and sharing and contrasts two cats “Tabbs” who lives in a stately home and alley cat “Bouncer”, who lives in a cave. The story is set in Sefton Park in Liverpool, England and has been illustrated by Liverpool artist Reilly O'Donnell.

A keen horse rider, Zakiyya has drawn upon her experiences at the stables for context for her second book, currently in production, entitled “Tabbs and Bouncer go to the Farm” set in Home Farm in Croxteth Country Park, a stately home in Merseyside. The second book of this four volume series is due for publication this winter.

In recognition of her achievement, the prestigious Belvedere Girls Day School Trust awarded Zakiyya winner of the “Writer of the Year Award 2005” and presented her book to the whole school to demonstrate what children can achieve through reading and writing.

At Zakiyya's stables, she was also awarded a Rosette for best overall rider, winning the most races and having clear rounds in the jumping heats of 2005. But the talent doesn't stop there, as at 2005, Zakiyya has achieved a brow belt in Shotokan Karate awarded by the Karate Union of Great Britain and is hoping to get her black belt by the time she is 10 years old
