Zakiyya aged 9 was a pupil at The Belvedere Girls Day School Trust in Liverpool where she developed into a creative story teller with a love of nature and in particular, cats and horses. In recognition of her achievement, the prestigious Belvedere Girls Day School Trust awarded Zakiyya winner of the “Writer of the Year Award 2005” and presented her book to the whole school to demonstrate what children can achieve through reading and writing.
